I recently pruchased a Drag Specialties tachometer, which has a 4 wire hookup. One wire for ground, one for power for the unit, one for power for the light, these I an OK with. The instructions say to hook up the fourth wire to the negative terminal on the coil. My question is if anyone knows which terminal is the negative. From the wiring diagram in the service manual that the black/yellow wire is the negative, however it isn't labled to be negative or positive. However the other wire (orange/white) eventually leads back to the positive battery terminal it makes sense that the other would be the negative.
Tomorrow I think I'll give my dealer a call, I'm not sure how productive that will be, but hey, they sold, so they must know how to hook it up, right? (ha-ha-ha)
Well, thatks for any help, because I would hate to hook something up wrong and fry the tach or one of those probably expensive black boxes.
Thanks,
Joe
